A greeting like this makes you want to linger in this London locksmith store.

It was a snowy, blustery day in London, Ontario and I needed an “instant open” lock to avoid fumbling for keys on the doorstep and thought that a radio controlled lock would fill the bill.

I knew that Central Locksmiths in London, Ontario would fix me up.

The moment I entered it felt that someone had thrown open the shutters and a sunny spring morning was flooding in.

Marilyn bounded from her chair and promptly introduced herself and was soon, knowledgeably seeking a solution for me.

Regrettably she couldn’t recommend a consumer product due to the extreme cold that Canadians have to put up with and so .. We chatted for a few minutes about shoes & ships & sealing wax and cabbages & kings.

Marilyn was just putting on a pot of coffee and offered me one and in between creating propositions for re-keying an entire office building and cutting an extra key for a dear old lady; We addressed the world’s problems over a cuppa.

There’s no life enhancing reason for this post except; … I wanted to introduce you to a lady who knows her stuff and treats everyone who enters her door, as a friend. …. Remember to let her know that her coffee is now famous and she’ll probably offer you one.

Prepaid Credit Cards. …. A few things to watch out for.

Prepaid Credit Cards are a handy payment device for special uses and I use them frequently for making purchases when I wish to avoid the possibility of some-one “double dipping” and draining my account.

Since there is no link between my banking accounts and this prepaid card;   There’s little chance bandits can drain my account.

Additionally; I can make purchases which I would prefer not to show up on my records. … (Credit Card records can be subpoenaed ).

There are small fees for using these cards and “maintenance fees” can kick in after a few months but it’s a Rip Off that I’ll tolerate for their convenience.

These cards are available in amounts of $25 to $500 and are available at most of the chain Drug Stores.   Just keep your purchase and transaction records in case you do need to dispute an item.

Even though there is a myriad of benefits from using prepaid cards; … There are some little known dangers and Ellen Roseman does a great job of alerting us to these dangers.

Watch out for this drugstore scam.

Doctor scribbled a prescription for an Over the Counter product (Cost $22.00) and the dispensary assistant checked and discovered that it was cheaper at the dispensary. …. Cheaper until they added their dispensing fee. …. Now $11.61 product cost plus $10.99 dispensing fee.

Remember; … The dispensary may be a separate business from the main drugstore and the whole fee goes to them whereas they get zippo if I had bought of the shelf.

Didn’t occur to me at the time but the fee may be negotiable and if there were a few other customers around; I could probably negotiate it away.

I got caught! … Watch out for this attack on your wallet and don’t let it happen to you.

Eureka Moment while using My Cell Phone in another city.

Hi Folks.

Having created complete cell service which includes Unlimited Long Distance across Canada that only costs me $18.00 per month makes me just a tiny bit smug and I’m enjoying it.

I had another recent Eureka Moment.    When in London Ontario;   I needed to call another city and expected to have to return to my Laptop and make the call     (Yup!   My laptop has a phone number).   but by adding the digit one before dialing I was enable to make this cross country call for free.

Whether it’s my Toronto, NY or London line that’s being called:  I answer on my cell phone wherever I am and it doesn’t cost me a dime;  Without my computer.

Folks! …. If you’re paying more than $20/Mth for Unlimited Long Distance Calling, Home Phone or Cell Phone Service. … You’re being robbed and systematically shredding $100 bills and flushing them down the drain.

A new day has dawned for Telephone Subscribers. The carriers are scrambling for business and have incredibly cheap packages when we know where to look.

I’d pushed the wrong button and my LG Keybo2 Cell Phone was now locked and demanding “Enter Unlock Code” to work.

It was panic time since I’d tweaked this $10/Mth prepaid phone to provide cross country, unlimited incoming and outgoing calls and several lines are forwarded to this unit.     It’s my main line.  More …

Neither a review of the documentation nor an initial web search turned up the answer and it was a quickly becoming a nervous Sunday.

Fortunately I landed in a forum discussing the topic and discovered that many cell phones have the same locking feature to prevent unauthorized use and many owners were in a similar panic.

The Solution.  In my case;   The solution I discovered to unlock the phone was to enter the last four numbers of my cell phone number.

We know 2 important facts about these warriors that can be turned to our advantage.

No1 … They’re ambitious.

No2 … They’re unstoppable.

Here’s my question for you; … How can you enroll these solicitors into your marketing army?

My solution is to have a commercial waiting in a cheap voicemail box that delivers the left message as an audio attachment sent to my email.

When I receive a solicitation my reply goes something like this; “Hold it one second! … You have the wrong number! … Do you have a pencil? … You can get him at this number 647-955-1368.

Heck! …. Don’t waste your contact with this invincible warrior. … Use cheap automation to pitch him; … This could be the agent that you’re seeking.
